My first craft show! I forgot my camera, but one of the ladies at the show took pictures of everyone's booth. Here's what part of my display looked like! I have to go to work at Lush, but I'll post more (hopefully) soon with a better description of the show.

Still haven't been posting much. Oh well, I don't think many people read this anyway. :oP

I bought TONS of jewelry supplies this month. Mostly for the Craft Show that I'll be in on Feb. 16th (in Savage, MD- the Savage Snowdrop Art and Craft Fair ). I bought some necklace busts to display necklaces, bags, wire, a ring mandrel, and business cards online. I also spent over $100 at Home Depot buying wood and various things to put a display table together. I have to keep telling myself that I will reuse them (especially tools I bought like a staple gun). I think I did a really good job, too. It looks fabulous, and I made it all so I can take it apart and store it, since I have little/no storage space in my apartment. There's still some finishing touches to be made, but I'll post pictures sometime after I'm all done.

It's been awhile since I've updated, but I just wanted to let everyone know I moved my shop to http://GetWiredDesigns.etsy.com . It seemed better to have my web address match my shop name. GetWired.etsy.com was already taken, so I'm now GetWiredDesigns. :o) Lots of new pieces have been listed, as well.

I just listed a bunch of new pendants today, inspired by (and provided by!) my visit to Virginia Beach this weekend. There are more to come, check back soon! Right now there are sea shells, sea glass, and pretty rocks picked up from the beach.

I have 2 reasons to squee today.

First.

Someone bought a necklace from me today, saying:
"I saw this in the newspaper and loved it instantly. Great works of art, I am looking forward to wearing this piece." This would be the article Carolyn wrote for her local newspaper. Yay for Carolyn!

Second.

This isn't that big a deal, but I wrote up a tutorial to submit to a woman who posts information about selling jewelry. It seems to be pretty big and gets a lot of attention. She posted my tutorial on how to make a cheap necklace display. Yay! I don't ever mind sharing my ideas, and man was it cheap and easy. :oP So now I'm on her webpage and I made sure to include a necklace of mine on the necklace display.

Do you think people would be interested in my rings? I don't have a ring mandrel, so it makes it quite difficult to accurately size them. I don't know if there would be enough interest for me to warrant buying them....

Some, like this one, probably hold their shape pretty well (I know I gave some away...if you have one, is it lasting?):

If I used thicker wire (and consequently, would probably have to be a bigger bead) I could probably make some like this:

Why do I spend way too much time formatting my livejournals? And why in the world do I have 3? Yikes. Anyway, this is the one I'm going to use for my jewelry.
